Just because we left two family size tubs of French Onion dip intended for mom’s Christmas party in the fridge (and effectively ruined said party if you want my opinion) and then had to buy gigantic bags of potato chips today so the dip wouldn’t go to waste DOES NOT mean I had a plan this whole time to sabotage the party and have an excuse to eat the chips and dip all by myself. I mean, it only seems suspicious. Cuz I’ve spent a great part of my life with my hand stuck inside a chip bag, and if it somehow wasn’t in a chip bag, well clearly that me wasn’t me but an imposter me and the real me had been kidnapped cuz that scenario seemed far more likely. But this time, I swear I behaved. Which might possibly be the saddest thing I’ve ever written.

Intended as a topper, but I’ve swatched Cynthia’s toppers before on naked nails and they always turn out exquisite. And four coats sounds like effort to about the trillionth degree, but they were an effortless four coats and .. well .. you had me at effortless.

Aside from all that, this polish would make for some awesome party manis. Someone do that for me and tag me in it. I’ll just be over here wearing an extraordinary amount of pajamas.

OPACITY: Two coats, but one covered really well

How precious is this color? Ugh. As far as pinks go, it’s pretty much pink, level EXPERT. If you’re not buying this, let’s have a chat about priorities, shall we? Cuz how can you enjoy sitting amongst all that “electricity” and “running water” without this lovely pink holo in your life? Spoiler alert: you can’t.

Formula here isn’t quite as opaque as the other one, but it’s pretty dang close. About one-and-a-half coats to be exact, except I don’t think that’s a thing. Regardless, it went on easy and it’s full of yummy deliciousness. Flakies, guys, FLAKIES. And for that fact alone, we lub it lots.

First time using this brand, and I was quite impressed! This is a lovely gold and the formula was nice and easy. A perfect shade for anytime, but it’ll make a great base for some holiday nail art. Or maybe you just need an excuse to be festive? These nails are begging for it, let’s just say. They also say NAP TIME! although that might be just me.

Formula was easy although it can get gloopy if you work it too much. DON’T DO IT. I mean it. Just swipe then leave it alone. It’ll all work out, I swear. I mean, I go ultra perfectionist and ruin pretty much everything about 97.74658% of the time ALL so you won’t have to. In other words, I did this mani twice. Oops.

LEMMING LACQUER: CRANBERRY FAIRY

DESCRIPTION: A cranberry holographic with sparkling pink and red microflake shimmers

Formula is thicker than average due to all the shimmer packed in. I mean, SO MUCH SHIMMER! It dries slightly textured and semi-matte, but once you add top coat – HOLY MOLY! Complete driving hazard. Potholes come straight out of nowhere with this one.

For my swatch, I did one brushed coat and one sponged coat and and the payoff is legit no joke. I mean, I’m still picking stray glitters off my body, cuz clearly I’m not very good at nails.

ALL I CARE ABOUT IS LOVE

DESCRIBED as a moss green holographic with green to purple multichrome flakies and pink shimmer, All I Care About is Love is basically all your polish dreams come true. It’s GREEEEEEN! All other points are moot.

ALL THAT JAZZ

DESCRIBED as an indigo holographic with fine red and aqua shimmer, All That Jazz is jaw droppingly beautiful! The color is not your typical blue; it’s just different enough to be special. So vibrant and holo-y and noodle-leg-enducing. How we’re still upright, the world shall never know.

GIVE ‘EM THE OLD RAZZLE DAZZLE

DESCRIBED as a rich magenta holographic with pink shimmer, Give ‘Em the Old Razzle Dazzle is just that: RAZZLE DAZZLE. It’s four fingers full of Jolly Rancher goodness, although slightly more poison-y. Do not lick. DON’T DO IT!

STEP AWAY FROM JAZZ & LIQUOR

DESCRIBED as a warm brown holographic with golden-green and aqua shimmer, Stay Away From Jazz & Liquor is an absolute perrrrfect fall color! I’m such a sucker for browns, and this one is no exception. So warm and cozy and Schnapps-in-the-coffee GOOD. Excuse me while I close my eyes and sigh to myself like a crazy person.

WE BOTH REACHED FOR THE GUN

DESCRIBED as a dark blue-gray holographic, We Both Reached For the Gun is your almost one coat dreamboat. Of course, I do two coats out of habit and also cuz I have a nail polish problem.

Formula on this one is the thickest of the bunch, but it applied well as long as you don’t overwork it.

THE MISTRESS OF MURDERER’S ROW

DESCRIBED as a blood red holographic, The Mistress of Murderer’s Row is probably my favorite. Because it’s not exactly a red; there’s a skosh of brown in there, and we all know what happens when you toss in some brown. Magical things, y’all. With some smelling salts on top. Ooooh, it’s getting suuuuuper pass-out-y in here now!

In addition to this colletion, Liz sent over some stuff exclusively for this weekend’s Polish Con event in Chicago. Who’s going? NOT THIS LADY! Bah.

I just love the contrasting shimmer – you don’t see periwinkle and orange paired up that often but it definitely works so well! Unique and lovely! If this one ends up on all the surfaces, no one is surprised.

I just burned my boob while leaning over my bathtub faucet to wash my hair with no shirt on. In case you haven’t heard (or you haven’t been reading this blog, and in which case, I am var var concerned about your brain), the theme for August is Old Hollywood. Liz was inspired by the movie Singin’ in the Rain, and I can’t think of any better interpretation. Look at this:

Basically twins! NAILED IT doesn’t even begin to describe this scenario.

DESCRIPTION: A shimmery blue scattered holographic with gold to green color shifting flakies

This polish is truly special. It’s soothing to me, calming almost. The color is vibrant and those flakies will have you running for your smelling salts in 2.5 seconds. Okay, probably not running, but only because I like pajamas. I mean, if you somehow see me running, you can just assume there must be an ice cream truck about to turn the wrong way. In other words, skinny sure is taking its damn sweet time. Ugh.

But back to the polish. It’s 18,000 tickets to the Drool Convention.

Told ya. I don’t even know how I can attempt anything eloquent at this point, cuz half my brain is a bumbling idiot. Uhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnnn. Let’s move on real quick before something stupid slips out (as happens about 97.8658% of the time).

Gorgeous, right? I want it all over my body, HR policies notwithstanding.

This one is my favorite. The color and the flakies and those little peek-a-boos of green is basically all my nail polish dreams come true. I wanna go buy like a thousand more bottles and that’s not even a typo. I adore it that much. And also, I can’t be normal.

Cost for this one will be $10, which is soooo much less than the billion I expected. Our BEST DAY just got best-i-er!
