Grace-Full Nail Polish: Peg’s World Collection

Quick blog for you today as I’ve lounged a little too long on the couch all weekend and completely ignored the fact that responsibilities are a thing and not just for other people.  So now I’m behind, but only slight as I’ve had a pretty good blogging streak going for a while.  Which is quite impressive considering the sheer amount of pajamas on display over here.  Oh, the efforts!  Oh, the carpal tunnels!  Oh, the overachieve-y PROFESSIONAL BLOGGER EXTRAORDINAIRE!  Seriously, guys, if an award is coming, I’ll take a Starbucks.  And a Leonardo DiCaprio, you know, if y’all not busy.

I received a whoooooole lotta pretty from Theresa with Grace-Full Nail Polish to share with you today.  First time on the blog, and I feel like a fancy lady!  Take a look at what she sent:

OPACITY:  Three thin coats for me; covered nicely for a pastel

PEG’S OCEAN

DESCRIPTION:  A turquoise blue with silver holographic glitter and metallic sheen

OPACITY:  Two coats for me; dries with a tiny bit of texture so use a top coat!

RADIANT BLOOMS 

DESCRIPTION:  A deep pink holographic with chameleon flakies and pink, gold, and blue holographic microflakies

OPACITY:  Two coats for me, but one coat covered pretty good here as well!

Formulas on these were excellent.  Zero issues, application a breeze.  Perfect for those who polish with their eyes closed, as happens about 97.38566% of the time while swatching at 2am on a work night.

Glam Polish: Glow Collection (partial)

Today I had to count out 15 french fries and leave the rest on my plate UNEATEN and I am officially the saddest of all things sad.  I mean, what the hell kind of rude shenanigans is that?!  Ugh.  Excuse me while I go ugly cry into my bowl of baby carrots.  Booooooo.  However, if I’m forced to find a silver lining, I’ve lost four pounds.  Which, quite honestly, is the least that can happen considering the miserably unfortunate lack of Cheetos.

Good thing there’s nail polish!  I have a whooooole lotta gorgeousness from Glam Polish to share with you today.  Rachel sent over 5 out of 9 shades from the new limited edition Glow collection, and I swear if you like you some shimmer and sparkle and general yummy deliciousness, you’re gonna wanna get your wallet handy CUZ TIME WASTING IS A THING FOR OTHER PEOPLE.  Take a look:

Moo Moo’s Signatures: The Beginning of a Fairytale Duo (plus Halloween bonus!)

Just spent the last two hours outside looking for my missing cat just so he can burst through the front door 3 seconds later, all sauntering in like NO BIG DEAL.  I don’t know if the Universe is out scheming against me or what, trying to get me to put pants on and go “do stuff,” but that’s some kind of rude shenanigans if you ask me.  Listen, I’m already NOT eating the Cheetos; I don’t need to go wandering around the neighborhood in the dark, wearing no bra and hollering at a cat WHO AIN’T EVEN THERE.  Ugh.  Accidental exercise is stupid.  

But now the cat is laying in the floor by my feet taking a bath, and I’m using all my leftover effort to stop myself from smothering him with mouth kisses.  He no likee the kisses.  Or the hugs.  Or the stalking, for that matter.  Clearly, he is the sweetest kitty in the ENTIRE world.  Who’s basically never going outside again.

So before exhaustion ensues, let’s talk polish!  MeiMei with Moo Moo’s Signatures sent me some pretties to share with you today.  Who’s in the mood to toss a whooooole lotta nail polish in the shopping cart?  (Damn near all of us, pretty sure.)

OPACITY:  Two coats; luscious as hell

What a perfect contrast to the white crelly.  This one is positively vampy and sexy and full of yummy deliciousness.  These are your date night nails.  Or your napping nails, you know, if you’re me.

STOLEN CAULDRON 

DESCRIPTION:  A murky green base with purple to magenta shimmer, purple/blue micro flakies and holo dust

OPACITY:  Two coats, three if you’re crazy; obviously I did three

The shimmer in this is a bit subtle as the base is pretty dark, but it is there and the contrast is so pretty.  Purple and green, my favoritest combo of life!  The macro below (the nail side) is pretty accurate as far as shimmer to base ratio.  So see?  It’s not SHIMMER! with jazz hands, but more just shimmer with like some sweatpants on. Comfy casual shimmer is what I’m saying.  Either way, though:  GIMME.

Cupcake Polish: Lakeside Collection

I have effectively wasted sooooo much time napping on the couch this evening that I’ve inadvertently created a Polish Emergency for myself.  Surprisingly, the swatching and the blogging does NOT get done whilst lounging about with my mouth gaping open.  So in an effort to accomplish something this evening, here’s a quick little blog post about some gorgeous polish that’s headed for the shopping cart in roughly 2.5 seconds.

Well clearly my mouth hasn’t been gaping open enough today.  Gah!  Who’s a suuuuper unattractive mess right now?  I’m not saying it’s me, but it’s probably me.

This is the Lakeside Collection, a set of 6 lovely shades that I swear are gonna end up on all your surfaces – and not very accidentally.  Three shades are a new finish for Cupcake, with multichrome shimmer in a dusty creme base (i.e., dead).  The other half are full of delicious iridescent glitters, and wellll, you had me at iridescent (i.e., MORE DEAD).  All colors are themed around shimmering, glittering lake shores during the fall, and basically NAILED IT doesn’t even begin to describe this scenario.

Unfortunately I’m not the best person to model neutral shades in a flattering way.  Damn you sad, white sausages!  Hopefully you can imagine this on your better, prettier fingers.  Yes?

SHORE THING

DESCRIPTION:  A lavender creme based linear holographic with iridescent glitters

All you purple lovers need to FOCUS!  This little lady is calling your name, most likely with a French accent and handing you a Starbucks.  And those pops of iridescence?  A basketful of kitties, I swear.

In other words, there’s no way you’re turning your back on this now.

DON’T BE SHALLOW 

DESCRIPTION:  A cornflower blue creme with pink/copper/green/gold multichrome shimmer

The shimmer on this one is more subtle, but the color is just DIVINE.  I’m diggin’ the new finish, guys.  You need to get your hands on it, stat.  And then it’s ultra swoon-y scenarios for you!

ALL TIDE UP

DESCRIPTION:  A mauve creme with magenta/purple/blue/green/teal multichrome shimmer

More SWOON!  Seriously, we may never be the same again.  I wore this one to the dentist and received a compliment on it right before they told me I’m getting a root canal.  Softened the blow!  By about half a point, but still.

FLOAT YOUR BOAT

DESCRIPTION:  A grey creme linear holographic with iridescent glitters

Well let’s end this thing with a billion exclamation points, shall we?  The iridescent glitters pop against the darker base so good, and basically all our polish dreams just came true.  Weeee!

Anchor & Heart Lacquer: Mining for Multichromes

Jumping straight to the polish tonight cuz hubby and I just got back from a Bruno Mars concert where we were both forced to stand up and be awkward for about 3 hours straight and now EXHAUSTION has properly ensued.  Seriously, do people not sit in chairs anymore?  I mean, not even one time?  And then we were standing right next to a group of girls who felt the need for a soft pretzel every 15 minutes, so it was scoot back, scoot up, scoot back, scoot up for nigh on eternity.  Ugh.  SO. MUCH. EFFORTING.  A legit sweat bead mustache situation in full effect.

Now we’re back at the hotel, and I’ve got one eye already sleeping and the other is not too far behind.  So in an attempt to write a blog before incoherent typing happens, I figure getting the hell on with it seems like the most logical next step.  Grab your smelling salts; multichromes are coming in 3 .. 2 .. 1 ..

Anchor & Heart Lacquer: Fantasmic Flakies Group Custom

Another weekend trip, another stroll through the hotel lobby wheeling suitcases full of nail polish behind me like a dadgum weirdo.  Seriously, if I could ever vacation like a freaking normal person, it’d be a damn near miracle.  In my defense, if the swatching can’t get done then the blogs can’t either, and if y’all about had yourself a little heart attack just now, well that sounds about right.  No blog = saddest of all things sad, cuz you love this thing in case you didn’t know.

This polish is inspired by the Sanderson sisters, the witches from the Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus.  And obviously this beauty would make an amazing base for some cool Halloween-y nail art, but it’s also just this yummy shade of orange perfect for fall.  I swear, it’s colors like this that make fall almost bearable for me.  I mean, I still hate it due to it’s unfortunate proximity to the hell that is winter, but this nail polish gives fall like maybe half a bonus point at least.

Happy Friday y’all! Who else is lounging about wearing sweat pants with one hand in the Cheetos bag?  I mean, I’m not, but certainly there’s someone out there living my dream life.  Cuz that dang diet thing just won’t go away. Emily de Molly: October 2017 Release

Another speed blog coming your way today.  Who’s excited for me to shut my yap and just get to the point sometimes?  (All of you, prolly.  Booooo.)  I reorganized my blog calendar a bit ago and discovered a big wad of drafts piling up on me all at the same time, so I figure if I don’t just get the hell on with it, we might be done with this thing in roughly 37 years.  I mean, I’m not doing anything important, but I figure the rest of you might.  Ugh.  You and your fancy life.

Also, hubby and I went on a diet so I’ve been wasting most of my time crying over the surprising lack of Cheetos.  And for some reason that doesn’t get a blog written.  LAME.

Okay, first time on the blog y’all!  Miss Hayley with Emily de Molly sent me her release for October to share with you, and I’m not gonna lie:  I fangirled for far longer than a normal person might.  I mean, she’s no Leonardo or anything, but judging by all the squeee-ing shenanigans happening over here, she must be pretty dang close.  Anyway, take a look at these beauties:

OMG, this one!  These vampy reds are some of my favorites.  Mostly because they make my sad white sausages look less sad and sausage-y.  But then you go adding a crap ton of glitter on top, and so my brain has officially stopped holding my mouth closed.  I’m a walking pile of sex, in case you weren’t sure.

THE COUNTING ORDER

DESCRIPTION:  A light blue base with heavy green to pink shifting shimmer, iridescent and silver glitters and blue flakies

OPACITY:  Two coats

GUYS.  We got a green one!  Plus 27 levels of drooling scenarios.  Seriously, at this point I may never be normal again.  

THE PLAIN WALL

DESCRIPTION:  A pink toned light taupe with heavy turquoise shimmer and silver flakes

OPACITY:  Two coats

This one was a surprise favorite, as nude tones don’t normally play nice with my skin tone.  But I think it looks absolutely lovely and practically begs to hold a tiny cappucino; it’s dainty and so sweet. Or if you’re having little sandwiches later, you’re already halfway prepared. Tea with the Queen? BRING IT.

EVER SORT AFTER

DESCRIPTION:  A dark purple with green/purple/red multichrome shimmer and silver flakies

OPACITY:  Two coats

All you purple lovers, pay attention!  This one’s got your name on it.  (For real, I checked.)  Four fingers of grape Jolly Rancher goodness, and the sheer effort of keeping my hand out of my mouth is currently at an all time high.  For real, if you came here for the ladylike composure, you’ve picked a really horrible day.

PRETTY PERSONA

DESCRIPTION:  A light pink with strong green to pink shimmer, iridescent flakies and fuchsia and silver micro glitters

And it’s DELICIOUS. I’m not usually one for paler pink shades, but the flakies, guys. The dadgum flakies! Everything else is moot. Two smooth coats and a thousand buckets to drool in. At minimum.

LAND OF CRITIQUE 

DESCRIPTION:  A purple holographic with pink shimmer, red to green shifting glitters and silver micro glitters

OPACITY:  Two coats

GlitterDaze: Vixen Collection

If there’s one time where science absolutely cannot fail, it bygod better be on the day I get this stupid root canal.  Cuz if there’s like a one billionth percent chance of accidentally waking up during oral sedation, I’m almost certain I’ll figure out a way to do it.  I mean, if I can sprain my foot by stretching too hard while lounging on the couch, I’m pretty sure it all goes downhill from there.  UGH.  Universe, why you no love me? 

However, if I am forced to find a silver lining, I was told after-procedure care includes caffeine and/or milkshakes.  Sooooo … while I may be attempting to be on a diet, when the dentist says GO HAVE A STARBUCKS, you freaking go have a Starbucks.  Fiiiiiine.  Panic attack abated.  For now.

Each one of my swatches here show three coats.  Since they’re jellies, they go on pretty sheer for the first coat, but build up nicely after that.  Formula was nice and smooth and a pure nerdy pleasure to apply.  We almost had a Polish Mountain-type situation on our hands, except I’m not very good at goals.  Three coats and then pajamas, pretty much EVERY TIME.
