Painted Polish: 2018 Duo

Two seconds into the freezing drizzle, and can I just say:  there’s a whooooole lotta NO happening right about now.  Fetal position, tears and about 27 levels of sadness.  Excuse me while I go hibernate under the weight of a thousand electric blankets cuz winter is the lamest idea out of all the lame ideas.  Like, I’d have more success in attempting to be skinny next to an open bag of Cheetos before I’ll get through a day in January with a smile on my face.  Seriously, booooo on winter.  Plus, I don’t look good in a 67-pound sweater, sooo .. see y’all in April, then?  I think so.

I CLICK, YOU CLICK, WE CLICK

Someone needs to come take my internet away. It seems I’ve accidentally stumbled upon the secret to making winter less sad. Unfortunately it comes with about 37 brand new sweaters. YOU GUYS. I can’t stay off Nordstrom, not even for a little bit. It’s like, groceries? electricity? or perhaps a SWEATER instead? Seems like such an easy question, but then there was polka dots and a shoulder cut-out and the most adorable black velvet bow that you EVER did see. And well … I’m not saying there’s a shopping problem, but there’s probably a shopping problem.

Painted Polish: Fall Into Zen Collection

Standard

Current status:  blogging from my hotel room cuz CLEARLY I don’t know how to vacation like a normal person.  In my defense, the blogs don’t write themselves, as evident by the 7,397 drafts just sitting in here judging me with their lurk-y eyes.  But I’ve brought ZERO nail polish with me on my trip just so I can concentrate on writing.  GUYS.  An award better be coming cuz the overachieve-y on display over here is downright superhuman.

In more exciting news, I had almost 17,000 steps on the fitness app yesterday.  Compared to the 263 steps I had from the day before, I’d say SKINNY should be happening any day now.  Weeeee!

Oh, but the nail polish!  I have a gorgeous set of pretties from Lexi with Painted Polish to share with you today.  And if coordinating matchy matchy soothes your soul like nothing else, well then you’re about to have your BEST DAY EVER.  Take a deep breath:

• SUPER DUPER PRESS SAMPLES •

Now, SWOON!  Gah!  And this is just the first half.  Oooooh, it’s getting elbow jabby in here already.

This is the holographic portion of the Fall Into Zen collection, in PERFECT fall colors.  Do you love it?  (Yes you do.)  I swear, if it came with a side of Leonardo, no one is surprised.  Cuz they’re a best day made best-i-er, that’s why.

Each swatch below shows two coats plus top coat.  No issues with formula; everything applied smooth and easy.  In other words, you’re tossing polish in the shopping cart like NO BIG DEAL.

MULBERRY MUSINGS

DESCRIPTION:  A raisin purple ultra holo with added silver holographic glitters

MOSS MEDITATION

DESCRIPTION:  A lush moss green ultra holo with added silver holographic glitters

MELLOW MUSTARD

DESCRIPTION:  A mustard ultra holo with green and brown undertones and added silver holographic glitters

MOCHA MANTRA

DESCRIPTION:  A light brown ultra holo with blood orange undertones and added holographic glitters

Annnnnd then!  There’s coordinating cremes.  OMG, who just peed a little?  Seriously.

I’m not crazy, you’re crazy.

Not food.  Not food.  Not food.  Don’t mind me.  I’ll just be over here trying not to stick my fingers in my mouth.  Cuz these are legit yummy deliciousness, in case you’re curious.

All swatches below are ONE COAT.  Basically voodoo magic.

STAMPED IN MULBERRY

DESCRIPTION:  A mauve taupe one-coater creme that doubles as a stamping polish

And then I did effort!  Wanted to show off the stamping side of these cremes so each one gets a nail art.  Super simple designs using the creme plus its coordinating holo.  Seems like someone thought things through this time!  A rare moment of mojo, so we’s just gonna roll with it.  Plus matte top coat for funsies.

I used the Uber Chic Beauty 20-03 plate for this one:

STAMPED IN MOSS

DESCRIPTION:  A moss green one-coater creme that doubles as a stamping polish

I used the Uber Chic Beauty Lovely Leaves 2 plate for this one.  I reallly love how it looks.  But then again, GREEN.  Y’all already know.

STAMPED IN MUSTARD

DESCRIPTION:  A dusty mustard one-coater creme that doubles as a stamping polish

I used the Uber Chic Beauty Lovely Leaves 2 plate once again, and I might be in love with this one super hardcore.  Not sure what it is about those ugly pretty colors, but we need like 18,000 bottles.

STAMPED IN MOCHA

DESCRIPTION:  A light brown one-coater creme that doubles as a stamping polish

I used the Uber Chic Beauty Lovely Leaves 2 plate one last time cuz when I love something I do it in the most smother-y stalker-y way possible.

Painted Polish: Midway Merriment Trio (plus bonus!)

Standard

Considering the fact I’ve been in here blogging nonstop like Leonardo was standing there at the end of it, you’d think I’d be good and caught up and in the middle of a couch-lounging Full House EXTRAVAGANZA! by now.  Except NO.  The To-Do List is just sitting over there, multiplying itself like some kind of rude magic trick, all while I’ve skipped lunch hour nap time in an attempt to be a proper blogger and post things early for once.  Do you see all this efforting?  DO. YOU. SEE?  Seriously, if a Starbucks is coming, I’ll take a thousand.

Since we’re in a bit of a time crunch and I’ve already wasted 18 hours writing one paragraph, let’s jump into some polish. I received more swatching stuff from Painted Polish to review for you today, and if you’re in the mood for some glitter and holo and general yummy deliciousness, well then you’re about to have a VAR VAR GOOD DAY.  Take a look at what you’re buying:

• SUPER DUPER PRESS SAMPLES •

Quick! Lick the screen while no one’s looking. Now act natural.

Good job. Seriously, if you came here for the ladylike composure, you’ve picked the wrong day. Ultra drool-y scenarios coming up in 3 … 2 … 1 …

This is the Polish Con limited edition Midway Merriment trio, a beautiful set of coordinated polishes in a pink, navy and gold color scheme.  Orrrrr, straight happiness poured in a bottle!  If you’re looking at these and somehow manage to NOT close your eyes and smile to yourself like an idiot, well then I am very sad about your brain.

The colors:

SIDESHOWS & SNOW CONES

DESCRIBED as a white crelly loaded with light pink, gold and navy glitters both matte and holographic, Sideshows & Snow Cones is my absolute surprise favorite.  Cuz it’s white and it’s a crelly and those two things are scary sometimes.  But Lexi has the most AHHH-MA-ZING crelly formula – like, I think there’s actual science in there – and this baby is smooth and creamy and levels out perfectly in two beautiful coats.

And now you want 18,000 bottles.

FAIRS & FUNNEL CAKES

DESCRIBED as a clear base loaded with those same light pink, navy and gold glitters, Fairs & Funnel Cakes is the glitter twin to Sideshows & Snow Cones.  I did one coat brushed and one coat sponged and look how well the coverage is!  I did spend eons picking stray glitters off my skin, but that is beside the point.  Cuz sometimes I’m just not very good at nails.

Ridiculous macros on display:

CARNIVALS & COTTON CANDY

DESCRIBED as a rose gold ultra holo with added silver holographic glitters, Carnivals & Cotton Candy is just a prelude to the noodle legs you’re having later.  Cuz how swoon-y is this?!  Gah!  Those of you heading to Polish Con need to stop by Lexi’s table and toss a bottle in your basket. And some back up bottles in case you lick all over the first one. As happens from time to time.

I did three coats for my swatch just to deepen the color as much as possible.  Two covered fine though, you know, in case you don’t spend 17 hours sitting around painting nails like me.  Although WHY NOT?! is the actual question.

And now, A BONUS!  A few weeks back, Lexi released this gorgeous blue dreamboat as part of the Road to Polish Con series.  It’s no longer available online; however, she is bringing a limited number with her to Polish Con.  Who just peed a little?  ME TOO!  I swear, all pretenses of sexy officially went out the dadgum window.

FROM THE PIER, WITH LOVE

DESCRIBED as an ultramarine blue holographic with silver galaxy glitters and a pink/purple shinmer, From the Pier With Love is such a stunner! That pink shimmer peeking through?  DEAD.  And the sparkle out in the sun?  Complete freaking driving hazard.  Don’t ask me how I know.  Potholes are stinkin’ everywhere, though, in case you’re curious.

YOU GUYS. Don’t make me tell you what to do. Just toss this in your shopping cart cuz you were planning on it anyway. And now we are best friends, and you can continue to read this blog

THE ROUND UP

If you’re headed to Polish Con in Chicago, make sure you’ve added these beauties to your shopping list.  And don’t forget, the Road to Polish Con shade is in limited quantities, so if you want it, you know what to do. Someone’s gettin elbow jabby!

And thennnnn! The online release is set for October 1 at 6pm PST.  The trio for sure; the RTPC one will be if there’s leftovers.

Where to buy:  http://www.paintedpolish.com

I don’t currently have prices, but I’ve made an inquiry.  If/when I find out, I’ll edit this post.  PROFESSIONAL BLOGGER EXTRAORDINAIRE?  I say YES.

EDITED TO ADD:  Prices!  The Midway Merriment trio retails for $28 for all three. If you want single bottles, they retail for $10 each except for the rose gold holographic – she’s $12 cuz FANCY.  Also, the Road to Polish Con shade is also $10. But happiness?  FREE.

Painted Polish: Hella Holo Customs Trio

Standard

This blog started with a burst of energy about five hours ago.  I thought for a brief moment, Is today the day?!  Will I finally sit down and write the 7,397 blog drafts that has been staring at me since 1997?

GUYS.  It’s ME.  Here’s what happened instead:

1.  Hubby laid the mail down so I went through swatch packages and then tried on all the new Lularoe

2.  Went to take pics of a swatch I did last night, hated it, and re-did the entire thing altogether

3.  Organized my pile of unread US Weeklys in date order and then subsequently smudged my nails; re-swatching the re-swatch and saying cuss words ensued

4.  Bought a sandwich from Schlotzsky’s

5.  Pulled one weed out of the flower bed, accidentally made a sweat bead mustache and went back inside to wear pajamas

6.  Not much else gets done after pajamas

Long story short:  I don’t know how to manage a burst of energy very well.  They don’t happen very often so most likely my brain tried to SHUT THAT SHIT DOWN.  And so 18,000 chaoses and redirected efforts later, welcome to today’s blog.  Worth half a horn toot, though, to say the least.

I have a most glorious holographic trio to share with you today!  Lexi with Painted Polish is one of this month’s featured makers in the Hella Holo Customs group on Facebook, and so whatever kind of no-buy-type situation you got going on at the moment is hereby officially cancelled and deleted.  Cuz a legit no joke justification scenario just fell in your lap like no big deal.  Take a look:

• SUPER DUPER PRESS SAMPLES •

Told ya.  You want allllll these, oh yes you do.  I mean, unless you don’t like happy things.  Or maybe you’re a robot.  I dunno.

Real quick rundown of the colors (as usual lately), then I’ll meet you at the bottom!

GALAXY GAZE

DESCRIBED as a vampy oxford blue holographic with silver and sky blue ultra holographic glitters for extra sparkle, this gorgeous dreamboat is an effortless two coats!  And, well … you had me at effortless.

DEWDROP DREAMS

DESCRIBED as a burgundy holographic with scattered ultra holographic glitters and golden shimmer, this hot mama is my absolute faaaaaaavorite!  Colors like this – warm, dark, jewel-toned deliciousness – gets me 27 levels of drool-y every single time.  Perfect for fall, y’all!  Also, two coats if you’re curious.

BLUSHING BLIZZARD

DESCRIBED as a frosty blue holographic with silver ultra holographic glitters and a purple/pink shimmer, this stunner is jaw droppingly beautiful!  That shimmer peeking through is just a prelude to the noodle legs about to happen.  Two easy peasy coats on this one as well.

THE ROUND UP

All three of these polishes are some kinda magical perfection, I swear it.  No issues with formula; perfect for a quick mani in case you don’t have time to paint nails for 17 years straight like me.  Bah.  You and your fancy normal life.

How to buy:

Join the Hella Holo Customs group on Facebook by clicking here. Once you’re approved, look for Aubrey’s sales post with all the deets you need.  Cost is $12 each but there’s a coupon in the group that I highly recommend.

This trio is only available until October 2 at 11:59pm Hawaii time, which essentially means most of us can still purchase in the wee hours of October 3.  HOWEVER, you’re going now because procrastination is a thing for other people.

Now sit back, relax and revel in all your good decisioning.  Hooray!

Painted Polish: At Sea – Volume III Collection

Standard

I am literally sitting here blogging with one eye sleeping.  I’m not even sure what’s happening.  Might be blogging, might be dreaming.  For real, guys, I don’t even know.  Whatever the case may be, it’s after midnight so HEY! Let’s start a blog! cuz that makes a wholllllllle lotta sense right about now.  Ugh.  Where is Leonardo when you need him?  (Seriously, though, WHERE IS HE?)

I told hubby I’d stop going to bed at 2am on a work night, so clearly that’s going well.  I’m not good at goals, let’s just say.  I’m always making an attempt, though, so I get half a horn toot at least.  And a Starbucks, you know, if y’all not busy.

Let’s talk polish!  I have the gorgeous Painted Polish At Sea: Volume III Collection to share with you today, a 6-piece set of glitters and holos and one coat cremes.  And in case you haven’t drooled enough today, well, Lexi’s got you covered.  Welcome to Speed Blog #3, plus caffeine, plus jazz hands.  Here we go!

• SUPER DUPER PRESS SAMPLES •

I die, I die!  You’re buying all these, I’ve already decided.  I mean, you were just sitting around in sweatpants doing nothing, anyway.

Okay, no more chatty or else I’ll be writing this thing for nigh on eternity.  Here’s the rundown of colors, then I’ll meet you at the bottom!

Stamped in Seafoam

DESCRIPTION:  A seafoam blue/green creme; doubles as a stamping polish

OPACITY:  A one coater!

Some nail art:

I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it. I mean, no one is giving me a trophy for this one, pretty sure. Even a participation ribbon might need committee approval first.

Used the Lina Born to Sail 02 plate in case you’re curious.  (You’re not.  NEXXXXXT!)

Yo-Ho-Holo

DESCRIPTION:  A teal ultra holo with added silver holographic glitters for extra sparkle

OPACITY:  Two coats

Break for holo!  An EXTRAVAGANZA! is underway:

And now wallets are officially flying out of purses everywhere.

Something cute:

I mean, if I didn’t do a mermaid mani in here at some point, does the Blogger Licence get revoked, or … ?

Used the Lina Born to Sail 02 plate again in case recreations are in order.  (Maybe this time?)

Kissin’ Kelp

DESCRIPTION:  A deep teal scattered holo with gold shimmer and gold holographic glitters

OPACITY:  Two coats

And now we have GREEEEEEEEN.  Excuse me while my tongue lolls about outside my body.

More not-hideous nail art:

What’s with this sudden burst of mojo?  I’m not even sure this is the right blog we’re in.

Used the Uber Chic Beauty Vacation Mode plate for this one, and I lub it lots.

Stamped in Salmon

DESCRIPTION:  A bright salmon creme; doubles as a stamping polish

OPACITY:  One to two coater; I did two for safety

Seriously, who am I:

Certainly, the mojo has one foot out the door by now?  Cuz I stinkin’ adore this one.

Back to the Lina Born to Sail 02 again, cuz when I love something, I do it in the most smother-y, stalker-y way possible.

Jolly My Roger

DESCRIPTION:  A nude/light bronze ultra holo with added silver holo for extra sparkle

OPACITY:  Two coats

Legit no joke insane display of holo:

My eyes, my eyes!  How you’re still upright at this point defies all the logic.

More good nail art:

Please tell me Leonardo is on his way.  Cuz after four good nail arts, I’m pretty sure I win a prize.

Used the Uber Chic Beauty Vacation Mode on this one.  Love the contrast between the black and the holo.  You too?  (YES.)

Nauti Nudist

DESCRIPTION:  A sandy nude holographic microglitter

OPACITY:  Two coats; pretty dang smooth for an ultra packed glitter; no gloop!

Final nail art:

The stamping was a bit more subtle than expected, but I think it turned out pretty cute anyway.  It’s a coral image in case you can’t tell.  It’s also my 5th good nail art in a row, so I’m feeling a bit overachieve-y at the moment.  Toot toot!

Used the Lina Born to Sail 02 plate one more time, cuz I’m properly obsessed.

The round up:

This collection is sooooo good, guys!  Especially those two holos.  I’m not even gonna pretend anything ladylike is happening over here, cuz I assure you, THERE IS NOT.  You need these in your life.  Plus 27 backup bottles, you know, in case of accidental painting of all the surfaces.  As happens from time to time.

The deets:

Full set retails for $58

If you have to do single bottles, the two cremes/stamping polishes and Nauti Nudist are $10; the rest are $12

Click here for shopping!  And then sit back and revel in your good decisioning.

Painted Polish: Stamped in Spring Collection + PCNY Hipster Trio

Standard

For a girl who got booed on her 21st birthday for sipping a Jagermeister shot like a fancy lady, you’d see me now – all covered in robe, head lolling in the midst of an accidental 8pm nap, mouth agape for extra attractiveness – and think, YEP. That sounds about right.

Listen, all things considered, I’m basically a success story. As Spelling Bee Champion of 1987, you’d expect a little venture down a dark road at some point. But I can ignore peer pressure like it’s my damn job. Cuz having anxiety and thinking everything might kill me sometimes comes in very handy. I’m a goodie two shoes cuz I’m too scared not to be.

In other words, super fun at parties.

Although I do have my addictions, don’t get me wrong.  When I find a hobby, I do it super hardcore.  I can’t be normal about it.  This is how you end up with a duffle bag full of puzzle books and a monthly subscription to 11 different scrapbook kits.  Cuz while most rational people might just do things leisurely, I will obsess over it in a credit-card-retaliating, stalker-y, smother-y kind of way.  Then sell all of it at a garage sale about 2 months later.

Like a sugar high, the crash comes swiftly.  SEND HELP is what I’m saying.

I have some gorgeous polishes from Painted Polish to show you today.  First time on the blog y’all, so toots for Lexi for making good decisions!  She sent me an awesome set of stamping polishes plus a trio that debuted at Polish Con which is now available to the rest of us.  Get ready to die a little.  Here we go!

• SUPER DUPER PRESS SAMPLES •

First up is the Stamped in Spring collection, a set of 5 deliciously springy colors that are either one or two coaters that double as stamping polishes.  A two in one!  Which means you just saved money, so if there was ever a time to justify the next 1275 bottles of nail polish, now would be it.

Lemme do the rundown of colors, then I’ll meet you at the bottom.

First one is Stamped in Mint, a creamy one coat pastel mint:

I’m trying to keep my chatting to a minimum so we aren’t in this blog all damn day, but the lolling tongues are lurking.  Ugh.  So pretty.

Here’s Stamped in Starfruit, a springy pastel yellow:

Drool buckets on standby.

This is Stamped in Guava, a fresh pastel coral:

Bad case of the noodle legs.  Someone roll me over a little fainting couch!  And bring a Starbucks, just in case.

Next is Stamped in Taro, a one coat pastel periwinkle:

OMG, purple lovers!  This one has your name on it.  Get on it, boo boos.

Lastly, here’s Stamped in Peach, a yummy pastel peach:

How I am still upright, it’s defied all logical explanation.  These crèmes are luscious.  Ultra smooth, although thicker than your average polish.  The lighter colors needed two coats just to make everything level, but the one-coat coverage was phenomenal on all of them.  There’s no way you’re getting out of this blog without spending some money, I just know it.

But do they stamp?  You tell me:

GUYS.  I made a thing.  And it turned out so cute!  Quick! Someone get me my horn so I can toot it.

I used the Lina Feeling Shapely 01 and 09 plates, Stamped in Mint and Stamped in Peach if you’re curious.  (You are this time!)  Next.

Effort was made with all that gradient stamping.  Goodness.  You ask the Baby Jesus just one time for a bit of mojo, and look what happens.  Nail art, everywhere.

Used the Lina Mad for Mandalas 01 plate for this one, plus Stamped in Starfruit, Stamped in Guava and Stamped in Taro.

Another favorite!  Who am I?  Certainly the mojo is halfway out the door by now?

This time I used the Lina Make Your Mark 04 plate, Stamped in Guava and Stamped in Taro.  And some peach studs for extra specialness.

Okay, this one almost went the way of stamping all the things but I think I got it together in time.  Sometimes when I do nail art, my brain goes away somewhere.  The focus face has done took a vacay.

I used the Lina Feeling Shapely 09 plate, Stamped in Peach, Stamped in Starfruit and Stamped in Taro.  On this particular plate, the images are mostly mix n match geometric shapes, which gives me a touch of the OCDs.  So all things considering, this mani is a bit of a miracle.  The fact there’s not 18,000 triangles on it is proof.

Last one, and I’m going out on a high note.  I think this is darling.  If there’s an award coming, no one is surprised.

For this one, I used the Uber Chic Beauty 17-01 plate, Stamped in Taro, Stamped in Mint and one of Painted Polish’s other shades, Midnight Mischief.   Recreations (and kudos and accolades) start now!

This was my first time to use any of Lexi’s stamping polishes, and now I think I need them all.  They work very well, even stamp over black as another swatcher discovered.  If you feel like spending a little money today, right here is a good reason.

In addition to the stamping collection, the PCNY Hipster Trio is coming back. It first debuted at Polish Con, but now all the rest of us get our chance.  Take a look at these lovelies:

Who else just peed a little?  Squeeeeee!

First up is V-Necks & Vinyl:

This one is a fuchsia ultra holo with added silver holo glitters.  So much pretty in just two coats!  If you haven’t already drooled in a thousand buckets by now, well here’s where you’re about to get suuuuuuper unattractive.   Cuz there’s only so much sexy to go around while this is on yer nails.

Macro, in case more convincing is in order:

Gah!  Have you ever?  NO. YOU. HAVE. NOT.

Next up is Beards & Bow Ties:

This one is a white crelly base full of fuchsia, orange, gold and sky blue glitters.  You know how sometimes when you use a white crelly, and it’s streaky and un-level-y and generally not good?  Well, welcome to your new best friend!  This white crelly is PERFECTION.  Two coats, smooth application, no patches, no gloop, nothing. It’s quite possibly made of magic.  And happiness.  With a Starbucks on top.  I can’t think of a better thing.  Unless it comes with a basketful of kitties, that is.

A macro EXTRAVAGANZA!

Lastly, here’s Mix Tapes & Man Buns:

This is the glitter twin to the above crelly.  Same glitter mix, but in a clear base.  And for such a glitter bomb, it goes on really well!  Would also make an excellent counterpart to some fun nail art with the crelly.

So naturally, I didn’t do one for you cuz BEST BLOGGER EVER.  Clearly, I didn’t plan that out well.

I brushed on two coats and then did some dabbing with a third just to make sure it was all covered.  It’s very blingy, and I think you’ll love it.  Cuz you’re a Crazy Nail Lady, that’s why.

Macros, then we shop:

Oh my.  Bye bye checkbook.

Both of these collections released yesterday, so you’re all set to spend some money.  Here’s what you need to know:

The Stamped in Spring 5-piece set is $45; single bottles are $10 each

The PCNY Hipster Trio is $28.  If you go the single bottle route, V-Necks & Vinyls is $12 and the other two are $10 each

Click here for shopping! Then sit back, relax, and stalk the mailman like a proper loon.  At this point, you have no choice.

Later, loves!
