Dainty Digits Polish: Enchanted Garden Collex (plus bonuses!)

Standard

Things accomplished this weekend:

1.  Having my husband bring me stuff on his way back from the kitchen.  I swear, I would literally starve to death if he didn’t ever get off this couch.  I mean, sure, I could probably manage to go in there and get the box of Cheez-Its myself, but honestly, who’s up for doing effort on a weekend?  (Crazy people.)  No, I’ll just suffer in silent hunger since a minimum amount of legwork makes the most logical sense.  AND CUZ I AM A PRINCESS, and we shall treat me as such.

So, this morning we had plans to eat hashbrowns, but hubby got called into work unexpectedly.  I laid in bed for 2 hours waiting for food and coffee to just appear in my hand, but it never freaking did.  Booooo.   I had to put pants on and drive myself to Starbucks like someone normal.  Which brings me to my next accomplishment:

2.  I put pants on.  Ugh.

3.  Wearing my last clean pair of underwear.  Which means, there’s a possibility of a 4th accomplishment for the weekend if I decide to do laundry versus just going to the store to buy more.  But that requires ANOTHER pants-wearing scenario, and I’m pretty sure I’ve maxed that situation out.  Dadgummit!  Maybe I can just hand hubby a basket full of panties on his way to the kitchen, cuz certainly he’ll make it to the laundry room at some point?  I dunno.

See guys?  I do stuff!  Maybe my stuff isn’t the same as your stuff, since your stuff requires being social and an interesting person and whatnot.  But things do get done.  I mean, items 1 through 3 didn’t just happen by magic, sooooo … var var busy over here.  Clearly.

Let’s talk polish!  I have lots of pretty things from Dainty Digits Polish to show you today.  There’s a 5-piece Enchanted Garden Collex, a couple of bonus spring releases, PLUS a way for you to get the two exclusives from last weekend’s Indie Shop event.  Are you ready?  I’m ready.  Lesss go!

Let’s talk about the Enchanted Garden Collex.  NeNe created these 5 beautiful shades inspired by one of her dear friend’s love of lilies and other exotic flowers.  Talk about pretty!  I’m a sucker for anything spring, and if I didn’t already own them all, I’d be tossing each one of these in the basket along with 27 back-up bottles just to be safe.

Someone’s crazy, and while I’m not saying it’s me, it’s probably me.  Well, why be obsessed if you can’t do it properly?

First up is Morning Glory:

This one is a gorgeous, rich purple creme.  Goes on glossy and smooth in two simple coats.  Which means there’s plenty of time leftover to go be Mom-of-the-Year real quick or something.  ORRRRRR!, you can just take a nap.  You know, if you’re me.

Next up is Blue Tiger Lily:

This one is a cornflower blue creme with some aqua and blue flakies and a bit of holo mixed in.  It’s my favorite of the bunch!  If you’re only buying one polish, although WHY? is the actual question,  I recommend this one cuz it makes even the sausage-y-est of fingers look fabulous.  Proof:

Now here’s Tropical Canna Lily:

This one has a peach crelly base that’s loaded with a whole bunch of flakie business, which is a professional way of saying I don’t know what’s in this polish.  Although, I’m pretty certain “flakie business” is a technical term.   And you’re buying it cuz you have no choice.

In other news, I am soooooo good at blogging, you guys!

This one is Stargazer Lily:

This one is a dreamy candy pink creme with a very subtle shimmer.  So subtle, I didn’t actually see it on my nail unless I got my eyeball right up next to it.  I mean, I’m not opposed to doing it that way, as I imagine it’s less weird than putting my tongue on it, which is what I’d rather do.  Cuz it might taste like a strawberry milkshake.  Or maybe poison.  I dunno.  Either way, though, maybe it’s best we just act normal for once.  Moving on.

Lastly, here’s Delirious Dahlia:

This one is a blurple metallic with flakies, some subtle blue/purple shimmer and bit of holo.  It’s really pretty, and all my purple lovers better get this one on the to-do lists, stat.  Well, this one and the other ones.  Cuz if you’re getting out of this blog without all five in your basket, well, I can only imagine how WRONG you must feel.  So ENTIRE Enchanted Garden Collex it is then!  Congratulations on your very good decision.

In case you did not know, last weekend was the Indie Shop event held in Atlanta.  Lots of indie makers were there, as well as a bunch of super lucky people.  Naturally, I wasn’t there because I live in the middle of where nothing ever happens, which is mostly DUMB but also STUPID.  Anyway.  Dainty Digits made this little beauty exclusively for the event:

This is Stream of Enchantment, a light turquoise jelly with aqua shimmer and lots and lots of flakies mixed in. It’s every bit of the glory you think it is.  Even more so maybe.  It’s glory, with happiness and a Starbucks on top.  At MINIMUM.

NeNe has some leftovers, so now is your chance to score your own – without the hassle of time travel, putting pants on, or any other inconviences.  Single bottles are available now for $10 each but you have to be a member of the Facebook fan group in order to buy.  Click here to join – it’s free – and snag this little lady!

Side note: there is also a dark blue nighttime version of this polish available called Obsidian and you can get the duo for $18.   Swatch pics are in the group!

Lastly, there are two bonus spring releases to show you.  First up is Icing on the Cake:

OKAY.  I know this isn’t food.  I know it’s not a cupcake.  Or a donut.  Or anything related to a birthday.  But dadgummit, how am I supposed to not lick this one?  Ugh.  NeNe, you stinker.

This one has a sweet pink crelly base and a nice healthy dose of multicolored sprinkles … er, glitters, I mean.  It’s fun and festive and just the cutest thing.  Get this on your nails! (But not in your tummy, even though you’ll want to.)

Last one!  Here’s You’re Lucky, I’m Charming:

Without knowing the point of this polish, I applied it all willy nilly and thought something was wrong.  It was so sheer and even after two coats, it looked almost clear.  So I thought maybe it was a topper, applied it over white and thought GOOD JOB, EXPERT! and went on my merry way.

Then I had a conversation with NeNe who told me it was intentionally sheer as it was her quirky take on Lucky Charms cereal and milk.  And OMG, she’s right!  I suppose the hearts and moons and clover-shaped glitters should have given me a hint, but I also thought condoms went on girls until like the 10th grade, so I’m not the best source for info sometimes.

Next day, I went back and used the polish correctly.  Look what I did!

So adorable!  It literally DOES look like cereal and milk.  NeNe nailed it for sure.

To get this look, I did three thin coats then some manual glitter placement so I could get more shapes in there.  Added one more thin coat on top cuz I don’t know why.  I love nail polish; it’s my only excuse.

The round up:

The Enchanted Garden Collex and the two spring bonus releases will be available tomorrow, March 20 so be sure to stick Post-Its on all your surfaces.  Click here for shopping, then stalk the mailman like a proper lady.

As a reminder, the Indie Shop exclusives are only available through the Dainty Digits Facebook fan group.  So you won’t have to scroll up to access the group link, click here instead.  Cuz I understand about effort.  The cat is currently poking holes through the screen door, but moving my legs away from this couch is a decision I’m not ready to make.

Lazy, Level EXPERT.  Not even ashamed.

Later, loves!

Dainty Digits Polish: Fiddy Shades of Gray-Scale Collex

Standard

If you’re happy the Patriots won the Super Bowl, y’all can thank my husband cuz he straight up willed it into being.

Let me preface this by saying neither one of us really cared who won.  His team wasn’t in the Super Bowl, and I don’t even like most sports (what is this thing they call football?), so either Patriots or Falcons –  made no difference.  However, because we root for the underdog, and because the Patriots had already won approximately 18 Super Bowls, we decided we were going to be Falcon fans for the day.  Clearly, we thought very carefully about this.  There were graphs, charts and a full-on science experiment included.

So because the Falcons were ahead by 25 points in the 3rd quarter, hubby got bored.  I mean, it get it.  When I’m bored, I do stupid things too (helllllurrrrr officially 1000 bottles of nail polish!), but would I purposefully start rooting for the other team to score a touchdown just for the sake of some excitement?  NO. I. WOULD. NOT.

And then look what happened.  While I was taking a bath, my husband sent me a text saying the Patriots won.  Of course they did.  When you go against Science, bad things happen.  And when you cross your wife, it’s even worse.  I sent back an eggplant and pair of scissors emoji cuz I mean business.  His response was about 27 cute koala bears, which had about as much effect on me as the Super Bowl did in the first place.

So while I’m pouting for honestly no reason I truly care about, let’s look at pretty stuff!  I received the new Fiddy Shades of Gray-Scale collex from Dainty Digits Polish to share with you today.  Y’all like gray?  If so, well then lookie here:

Here they are, all displayed for you in gradient order because OF COURSE.  Why have the OCD if you can’t use it properly?  I mean, that’s the only benefit as far as I can see.  If you can’t live in a house where the fringe on your rug is combed stick straight every morning, then what is the point of your life?  I ask you, WHAT IS THE POINT?

First up is What Overcast?!:

Ooooooh!  I’ll admit, gray polish isn’t normally something that gets me going.  I like color – the more color, the better; the more green, the best.  But these grays all have something special, more than just basic.  There’s shimmer, flakies, texture.  A sprinkle of fairy dust.  Some elbow grease.  Well, you get it.

This one is a soft gray crème with golden flakies and micro shimmer pigment.  Yes, please!  Went on easy peasy in two perfect coats. Perfect for those who have important things to do.  Or, more time for naps, if you’re me.

Next up is Rainy Days & Mondays:

Where my matte lovers at?  Cuz this one is for you.  I’ve only recently started digging the matte look, and now I can’t stop doing it.  This one, however, is already matte straight out of the bottle.  Another good one for the lazy people!  I did two coats here, but some may only need one depending on application.  And see those white flakies?  I die, I die!  Anytime you add white flakies to the bottle, I can guarantee at least a mild heart murmur, minimum.

Here’s Fiddy Shades of Gray:

Okay, for real.  It’s officially getting ridiculous.  How pretty is this?  (Very.)  And I’m not even joking when I tell you the formula is seriously one of the best I’ve tried.  Ultra smooth and luxurious and 100% magical.  Glided on like silk.  I wanted to apply like a thousand layers of this one, but then I gave up after two.  I’m not very good at goals, let’s just say.  I’ve crocheted about 87 scarves the size of pot holders as proof.

Last one is Fiddy Shades Darker:

In. Love.  This one is my favorite.  Same micro shimmer pigment, same excellent formula, but the darkness in this one just calls my name.  Probably with a French accent, handing me a Starbucks.  Plus, dark polish makes me look less pale and more skinny, which is all you ever really want in life.  Well, and Leonardo with a basket of kittens.  But then we’re good.

The round up:

The Fiddy Shades of Gray-Scale collex retails at $33.  If you buy the whole set, you’ll receive a FREE Speedy Glam Gloss quick dry top coat, so basically that’s what you’re gonna do now cuz why would you not?  Free stuff = YES, each and every time.

However – and this point is MOOT – single bottles are $8.50, except Rainy Days & Mondays sells for $8.95 cuz she’s a princess and you will treat her as such.

Click here to order!  (Cuz I’m the boss of you.)

Dainty Digits Polish: All the Leaves are Brown Collex

Standard

It’s officially fall.  While everyone is out celebrating, wearing their Uggs and drinking their Pumpkin Spice Lattes, I’m over here checking AccuWeather every 5 minutes making sure the 90-degree days aren’t going anywhere any time soon. I don’t enjoy 90-degrees, but I don’t enjoy the lurking of winter even more.

That’s the thing about having fall and winter right up next to each other:  I can’t love fall like the rest of the world.  Much like I can’t appreciate a Sunday as it’s too close to Monday which means the weekend is over and I can’t have butterscotch schnapps in my coffee for 6 whole days.  So hard, you guys.  SO.  HARD.

Now that you are aware of my stance on fall, let me assure you that fall colors are another thing entirely.  They are all that is good in life.  Olive green, rusty orange, chocolate brown, mustard yellow.  They are comfy, cozy, happy shades, and I want them everywhere.  I’m all for a pretty pastel or a fun, bright neon, but earth toned fall classics … UGH.  They got me good.

Here is one of the best fall palettes you will ever see.  It’s the All the Leaves are Brown collection by Dainty Digits Polish.  Look:

Are these not fall foliage in a bottle?!  I can’t get over how absolutely stunning these are.  Every single one: lovely.  If I didn’t already own them, I’d be buying them in a heartbeat.  I’m in too much awe to be clever right now, so let’s just get into the close-ups shall we?

First is called Jump in the Pile!:

My mouth is seriously hanging wide open.  This is the first one I swatched, and it left me literally speechless.  Unless you count incoherent throat noises as actual speech.  This is a gorgeous coppery red.  Goes on in one smooth coat, although you might want to do two just to straighten out the brush strokes.  They pretty much disappear once the polish dries, but until then you may have an attack of the OCDs.  I did.

Next we have some gorgeous shimmery metals. At first I was going to line them up in order of how you’d win a medal in a competition, but then I realized they don’t make a copper medal (just a stupid silver one) so now bahhhh! blog ruined.

Here’s Fall-oh My Lead – the bronze one. An actual medal color:

Oooooh, so lovely! This went on in virtually one coat. That’s what I think I love best about this collection – the saturation of color and how rich and luxurious they are.  It’s for campfires and red carpets and everything in between. Like holding lattes and looking super cute in scarves.  Which is my forte cuz campfires?! No, that’s outside activities, which require pants. However, I might do a red carpet if there was a Leonardo DiCaprio at the end of it.

Next is North of the Fall, a gold medal metal:

This one is fancy! As if you dipped your fingertips in a vat of liquid gold. Which would never happen in real life, but if it did, it’d look exactly like this.  Pretty sure.  I dunno. But it’s almost a one coater, which is all you really need to know anyway.

Last of the metals is the copper one, Tripping Colors. Also known as, The Real Silver Medal, had someone consulted me first:

For real, who wants a silver medal when a copper one is so much prettier?  Think of all the skintones that would benefit from this switch (i.e., all of them).  I did three coats on this since it had a thinner consistency, but now the polish has been reformulated to guarantee two coats or less.  Which means, LAZY PEOPLE REJOICE and hooray, you win! (A medal! Har har har!)

Shut up, Brain.

Then we’ve got two cremes. First one is Autumn My League:

Aside from the fact this looks just like chocolate, and I could really use a Kit Kat right about now, there is something really special about this polish.  At first glance, it looks like a creme.  But once it’s on the nail, there is this teeny tiny subtle amount of shimmer in it that is utterly captivating.  I couldn’t capture it enough in the photo, so I guess you’re just gonna have to buy this collection and see for yourself.

Ohhhhh wellllll!

But seriously, buy this collection.  Thanks.

The other “creme” is Orange You Happy?!:

Gah.  Pretty, right?  Same formula here, with the tiniest amount of shimmer.  Both of them are pretty much one coaters, possibly two coats for some, but the color is ultra rich and looks like silk.  These two were surprise favorites – I knew I’d love them because of their color (hello, chocolate and butterscotch!), but that sheen solidifies everything.  Not tasty, but delicious all the same.

Also, there’s a high possibility that’s a Funyun crumb stuck to the side of my bottle.

Wanna see something ridiculous?  Here’s Equinox:

RIGHT?!  There are no words for how gorgeous this color is.  It’s a grey to red duo chrome, and it’s my favorite.  If you need one reason to buy this collection (other than the other reasons I’ve already given you), it’s this polish right here.  It’s all the happy words poured in a bottle.  One to two coats of absolute perfection.  If you are not convinced how much you need this polish, you may want to consult a physician about the problem with your brain.

Included with your order is a mini bottle of this fun glitter topper called Seasonal Transitions:

I’m not an expert with glitter toppers.  I’ll spend 17 hours perfecting my random glitter placement technique, which negates the definition of random by about 97.47665%.  There’s a math problem in there somewhere for you, if you are so inclined.  I, on the other hand, will be over here combing the fringe on my rug for the 90th time today.

So I did three different versions for you.  On my top two fingers, I did a glitter gradient by using one of those old school eyeshadow applicators to pat on the glitter in my version of a haphazard way.  Ring finger is a couple of sponged on coats to get a more opaque look.  Then my pinky is one brushed on coat.  I hope you like it cuz I was at this for approximately lightyears.

The round up:

Every single one of these is wonderful.  Formulas were excellent, both in application and saturation of color.  Plus, in addition to the free mini topper, you get a Kuticle Kandee in the scent Punkin Pie.  How much more fall can you get?  I can’t think of any reason why you aren’t buying this.  It’s available right now in NeNe’s shop, so what are you waiting for?  The fence is no place for a lady.  Get on it!

Later, loves!
