Shimmer Me Box: March 2018 – Good Luck Charms & Symbols

Three blog posts, three days in a row.  Seriously, who’s writing this thing cuz it damn sure isn’t me.  NO, the real me is currently in the midst of some Olympic-style couch lounging (except not in a sexy way), enjoying a 2-year-old issue of US Weekly (at some point I’ll be caught up, I swear it; until then, however, Brad and Angelina are still together as far as I’m concerned) and being the best LAZY ME that you EVER did see.  Cuz responsibilities … wellll, that’s just a thing for OTHER people.

Although while a blog is somehow miraculously being written, I suppose I’ll toss some nail polish in for safety.  I have the new March Shimmer Me Box to share with you today and it’s as pretty as you’d expect, being all cheerful and spring-y and NOT SAD and whatnot.  And you guys – we got us some green ones!  Truly, our best day just got best-i-er.  Take a look:

I KNOW!  Ugh.  Excuse me while I go cry over nail polish for the next 37 years.  I’m well aware that’s not normal, so if y’all just LOOK AWAY for a minute, that’d be great.  I prefer to be ridiculous in private.

The theme for March is Good Luck Charms & Symbols, which isn’t a very spring-like theme by any means, but THAT IS NOT THE POINT.  This box marks the beginning of spring, and I don’t know about you, but it’s that fact alone that makes me want like 7,397 boxes.  Also not normal.  If I could get some supervision over here, I might stay married for at least one more day.  Hooray!

In addition to our usual trio of Shimmer Me peeps (Native War Paints, Tux Polish and Colors by Llarowe in case you need a blog full of actual, helpful information), the featured brand is Sophie with Femme Fatale.  Some of my most treasured polishes came straight from the crafty hands of Femme Fatale, plus they’re Australian (i.e., fancy) so that makes this box about a trillion times more better.

Ready to see some pretty things?  Let’s start with Sophie since she is our guest, cuz while I’m not much of a lady, I can manage some manners from time to time.  Here we go!

FEMME FATALE: WISHBONE

DESCRIPTION:  A pale greyed-out lavender with soft teal blue to purple shimmer

OPACITY:  Three coats plus glossy top coat

How delicious is this?!  (VERY.)  This color is a beauty and I want it all over my body.  TMI?  Not in this blog!  It’s also creamy and luscious and a pure nerdy pleasure to apply.  I dare you not to love it.  It’s nigh on impossible.

COLORS BY LLAROWE: ELEPHANT WALK

DESCRIPTION:  An elephant grey base with gold to green shimmer and blue micro flakies

OPACITY:  Two coats plus glossy top coat

Annnnd then my mouth fell right off my face.  Do you see this green?  DO YOU SEE IT?!  Okay, technically it’s grey but all that shimmer has voodoo’ed me real good.  It appears mostly green to me, but with this cool murky edge that I can’t get enough of.  It’s very unique; I own nothing like it.  Plus, it applies like silk – which surprises no one cuz Leah Ann makes masterpieces and – coincidentally – a whooooole lotta drool buckets with her name right on it.

TUX POLISH: LUCKY BUG

DESCRIPTION:  A light purple crelly with dark blue chameleon chrome flakies, red shimmer and red holo glitter

OPACITY:  Three thin coats plus glossy top coat

Out of all the Tux offerings in the three Shimmer Me boxes I’ve swatched, this one is my favorite!  It’s such a lovely, happy shade of purple – it makes me smile just looking at it.  And the formula – divine!  It applied beautifully and self-leveled like a dadgum CHAMPION.  Which is good, cuz I was swatching at 2am and with one eye already sleeping so I needed all the assistance I could get.

NATIVE WAR PAINTS: MINT TO BE LUCKY

DESCRIPTION:  A minty green base with blue/green shimmer

OPACITY:  Three coats plus glossy top coat

And so we shall end this thing on a high note.  It’s green on top of green on top of even more green, and I swear, it doesn’t get much better than that.  The shimmer in here absolutely glows, and so I’m gonna go ahead and pass the hell on out now.  They SWOONS, they are so dire.

THE ROUND UP

Price of this box is $36 plus shipping, so about $40-ish. Approximately. Give or take. More totally helpful information, I know.  If you’re thinking BEST BLOGGER EVER, well you’d be CORRECT.

Pre-order runs from Friday, March 2 at 12pm EST until Saturday, March 10 at 11:55pm EST. I don’t know what all you’ve got planned for the day, but I’m pretttty sure buying this box is right at the top of it.  Plus!  There’s a discount for being early.  Since Femme Fatale is Australian, they’re offering $10 off international shipping and free domestic shipping when you spend $50 or more.  Which means you buy this box (or two, maybe a thousand), toss in an extra polish for funsies and then the discount shall be yours.  But only til March 4 at 11:59pm EST, cuz we celebrate you early nerds ’round here.  Everyone else who shows up after Sunday, welllll … you’re forgiven but only slight.

Polish Emergency Alert! After the pre-order is over, the polishes are gone and delaying your own happiness is like 27 levels of some kinda RUDE. Just so you know.
