Remember that time not so long ago when I subscribed to 11 beauty boxes and had a hoard of masks and moisturizers under my bathroom sink that would outlive the apocalypse?  It’s funny how one hobby can just transplant another like that.  I traded my makeup and skincare obsession with nail polish – and I did it in the blink of an eye.

I blame YouTube.

Well, don’t give me an iPad, a cocktail and absolutely nothing to do for five hours.  I got sucked into watching some girl paint her nails, video after video, and literally didn’t blink for ages.  I was mesmerized in a way I hadn’t been before.  A naked Leonardo might’ve handed me a Starbucks and a Visa gift card, but heck if I know.

And from that point forward, nothing else mattered.  My 27 bottles of expired designer foundation sat there untouched and even more expired.  One by one, the subscription boxes met their sad, untimely fate.  On my mission to own all the things I ended up with too many things that I no longer cared about.  Remember that Korean face mask made out of green beans and slug trail?  Yep, I couldn’t even manage enough curiousity to open the jar.  Was it green?  Did it smell weird?  Who knows and probably, but we’ll never be 100% certain.

I’m well aware I have a problem.

The good news is my mother has no hypochondriac issues with using expired foundation, so technically I’m not the insane one.  Because owning 800+ bottle of nail polish is completely normal. It is; I checked.

Speaking of, I got more goodies!  I received a nice hefty package from Nailed It! this week and if you’re in the mood for holiday pretties, then today is your day.  I got two Christmas trios plus some info on their 12 Days of Christmas promo.  Get ready!  Lesssss go.

First up is their Classic Christmas trio:

Well, this is starting out well.  Perfection!  Very much your standard holiday shades, but oh so pretty.  There’s holos and glitters and flakies everywhere in here.  All the happy things poured in one bottle.  Basically, your Christmas wishes are coming true right now, in case you didn’t know.

Here’s Noble Fir, Sir:

OMG, green.  Heart eyes times a billion.  If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you know all about my love affair with green.  It’s my most favorite color, all the shades of it, and anytime I get one in a collection, I’m the happiest of all things happy.

And if you haven’t been reading this blog, then gimme your to-do list.  I’ll rearrange it for you.

Dreamy!  This one is a pretty grass green loaded with holo and gold glitters.  Formula is thicker than what you may be used to, but it was very easy to use.  I did two thin coats plus top coat.  Isn’t it magical?  Look at it under the lights:

Well worth carrying your LED lamp around with you everywhere, wouldn’t you say?  Gah.  I don’t know how I’ll make it to the end of this blog.  I’m already sighing and drooling, with my eyes half closed.

Next is Quintessential Christmas:

Hope you like bling!  (I do, I do!)  Perfect holiday party shade, if you go to parties. It’s also the perfect Netflix-on-the-couch shade cuz that’s what I do.

This one is a silver holographic with a light load of red and green glitters.  This formula was the thinnest of the bunch, but I still got opacity in two coats.  Great news for lazy people!  More time for naps.

Even though my swatch didn’t get any of the bigger green glitters, I still think it looks pretty dang good.  You and everyone else will be blinded by the holo anyway.

Last polish in the first trio is this glorious red, Mrs. Claws:

I’ve mentioned it before, but I don’t gravitate towards reds.  But anytime I see a red with FLAKIES in it, my brain stops holding my mouth closed. I want all the flakie reds!  In fact, all the flakies period. They just make everything better. Skinnier, prettier, smarter? Probably even that. Flakies are THE BEST. 

Ugh. So pretty. Red base, silver flakies. What other combo beats that?  Besides Fritos and bean dip, or my hand and a Starbucks, there’s not much else. 

Close up cuz you NEED it:

Heavenly. Not sure how we’re gonna top all that.  Voodoo magic maybe.

The second trio is Christmas with a Twist, three unconventional holiday shades:

Are you dying? Aaack! What beauties.  If you thought you were just gonna buy those first three, can we safely say you are WRONG. 

First up is Winter Wonderland:

Oh that ice blue 😍 This is the only ice I’ll accept in the winter. It’s just beautiful. If it wasn’t for colors like this, you could just send me to bed for the next four months. Wake me up when the grass turns green. Hubby thinks I’m a bah humbug when it comes to winter and Christmas, but when you stick the sun behind clouds for 129 days in a row, it’s hard to be cheerful. 

Nail polish helps. 

It actually looks rather dainty, but this baby has that same thicker formula and is opaque in two coats.  Full of blue, pink and purple glitters, it’s elegant and flashy all at the same time.  You want it; oh yes you do.

And then there’s this macro:

Do you need a chair and a cool rag for your forehead?  I know, me too.
Nex up is Ugly Sweater Party:

Alright.  I’m done.  I’ve officially dropped the mic and walked out of the room.  If you’re not buying this, I question your priorities.  Cuz how can you enjoy sitting amongst all that “electricity” and “running water” without this pink glitter in your life?  Spoiler alert:  you can’t.

It’s super precious!  The pink holo base is full of purple glitters and gold flakies, and I dunno, it reminds me of candy or something. It’s absolutely delicious.  And I pretty much can’t focus on anything else anymore.

Seriously, is someone bringing me candy?  Ugh.

That macro is straight up artwork.  This one is officially my favorite of the bunch.  You’ll love it too, I promise.

Last but not least, here is Tree Topper:

Well, you knew there had to be a gold, right?  Just one more excuse to go to a party, cuz this polish practically begs for it. Not me, though, cuz I like pajamas.  But you should definitely go.  Think how model-y your hands will look holding a Totino’s Pizza Roll or pointing at things with a flashy fingertip.  I’m almost jealous of how popular you’ll be.  Almost.  Cuz, NO PANTS.  It’s hard to argue with that kind of logic.

It’s a good thing we’re at the end of this blog, otherwise the rest of my words would be just groan-y throat noises and that’s super hard to write.  I’m just so pleased with this collection, but until someone invents more words, I’ll just be over here drooling on myself.
